<TD colSpan=6 job_detail? wordBreakNormal>The purpose of the role is : To assess complex problems for internal/external clients where the parameters are not well defined and to determine solutions where previous experience does not provide any precedent. The role may also include managing projects. Key Responsibilities 1, To carry out 1st generation GAP-analysis (Including preparation / GAP / Reporting) 2, To carry out 2nd generation GAP-analysis (Including preparation / GAP / Reporting / Certification) 3,To carry our consultancy work (gap analysis, etc) with yards in assisting them prepare for PSPC contracts and during their initial PSPC construction periods 4,To project manage the audit and subsequent annual assessment of yards in accordance with the PSPC and future IMO coating requirements. 5, To review non-compliances arising from coating applications and ensure remedial corrective actions have taken place. 6,To carry out audits of paint manufacturers and independent test laboratories. 7,To carry out audits of training establishments to maintain their suitability for certification of inspectors. 8,To act as point of contact for China with London MNDE, Technology Leader and other new construction locations in the development and update of LR's procedures/rules and notations in relation to coating work and future coating regulation development. 9,To draft and maintain rules, guidance and operating procedures associated with coatings. 10,To represent LR on external committees relating to coating issues 11,To represent LR at seminars and conferences and give presentations/ written papers. 12,To carry out approval of Coating Technical Files in support of Shanghai DSO Statutory activities and field surveyor work 13,Support to BDT giving presentations / seminars to Shipyards / Ship owners (China and World Wide) 14,Delivering training courses for internal and external clients (Asia) 15,To deliver HS&E training, mentoring, and consultancy, internally and externally, as time allows Specific Job/Technical Requirements 1. Experienced marine coatings specialist with at least 10 years experience 2. Knowledge of shipyard manufacturing and coating processes 3. NACE Level 2 and/or FROSIO Level 3 qualified. 4. Strong critical and analytical skills, able to operate well in situations where information may by unclear but sound decisions are required 5. Strong verbal and written communication and report writing skills 6. Computer literate 7. Strong training and presentation skills 8. Strong teamwork skills 9 Experience in client liaison at a senior level 10.Must be prepared to travel extensively in China and Korea, and occasionally beyond 11.Must be able to handle disputes between owner and shipyard on coating related issues in an independent way whilst balancing relationships with both parties and protecting existing and future work with both parties
