This position requires a person with experience in a boat or davit design or an in-depth experience in lifeboat or davit servicing or manufacturing. While based at our Shanghai Service Division office, the job itself will be primarily office based but will require site visits of service throughout China where required.
MAIN JOB DESCRIPTION
· Technical support to service engineers and office support staff and assigned service partners
· Trouble shooting and technical support on site where necessary
· To act as a trainer in *** China training school to provide service training to *** service engineers, service partners and ship crew.
· To be deployed in other *** China locations to provide necessary technical support as and when necessary.
· The suitable candidate will need to become conversant with technical aspects of not only ***’s China products but the complete range of ***’s products.
· The suitable candidate should be able to demonstrate knowledge of understanding lifeboat, davit and release gear designs with respect to SOLAS regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS
A background in a design related position of boats, davits, cranes or similar equipment. Or, at least 10 years experience of working with lifeboats or davits in a manufacturing or service position. Knowledge of hydraulics would also be a bonus. Candidates need to have a high level of English and have good interpersonal skills as part of the duties is to be able to provide training. Traveling will be necessary to attend ships in shipyards throughout China where required.
