Within BU strategies and/or Spend Area objectives
To contribute to the Strategy and planning of activities within BU and /or Spend areas
Realistic and timely input within overall procurement policy and goals
Sub BU /category strategy and budget - Formulate BU/category strategy and budget in consultation and interaction with relevant BU functions , business and spend area main buyer
Within requirements of BU and/or spend area, within spend area strategy, and with approval of BU purchasing director/ regional purchasing manager and BU Business Management
To plan and give direction to activities within own BU/category
Realistic and timely plan within overall procurement policy and goals
Alternatives for procurement/ market know How - Ensure collection and analyzing of key cost drivers, market dynamics and issues, areas for innovation, alternative suppliers
In consultation with and support of relevant functions and within set parameters of goals of BU/Spend Areas
To provide solid market information for decision taking
Up to date, reliable information accessible to internal clients
Advising BU - Provide monthly price updates and deliberate with BU management on strategies, priorities and issues and advice budget holders and experts in choosing suppliers and products
Within policies of Procurement, BU and/or Functions
To support BU management on defining BU Procurement strategy
Timeliness and quality of input
Optimization - Initiate and lead implementation of synergy, cost savings and risk reduction programs related to supply of PR, NPR, and processes and systems
Within set goals of Procurement strategy and in consultation with Business Procurement
To contribute to maximizing procurement goals for savings, efficiency and risk
Savings, efficiency increases, reduction, Work in Capital goals
Supplier selection - Ensure feedback on performance of current suppliers and identify alternatives
In accordance with internal clients and within policy of (key) supplier management
To support supplier selection
Number of feasible alternatives
Contracts - Analyze all price changes from suppliers, and negotiate for best result. Manage supply agreements and contracts, inform relevant parties and implement procedures
On behalf of BU, and within guidelines of Procurement policy and legislation
To ensure optimum costs and reliable supply according to specs
Timely contracts within legal requirements; DPO, % savings, quality
Vendors and suppliers relationship - Maintains relationships with (alternative) vendors and contractors and ensure performance
Within guidelines of (key) supplier management and specs of BU/Functions
To ensure good, reliable sources of supply and information
Timeliness and quality of service
Information management -Optimize and provide information recurrently/on ongoing bases on purchased goods and provide input on indexes and forecasts
Within standards of accounting and information management
To provide accurate management information
Timely and accurate reporting
Job requirement / candidate profile (with 3 years working experience)
1. Qualifications of education
l Bachelor degree and above, with Chemical or commercials background.
2 General skills:
Good communication and interpersonal skills, influencing, entrepreneurship, result orientation, negotiation, problem solving, project management, team working/building.
Capability of selling ideas, concepts and programs to suppliers and up and down the relevant AN organizations, ability to work under minimal supervision with broad direction
Ability to perform, understand and communicate detailed information analysis and evaluation
Very good English language skills both spoken and written.
3 Functional Skills
Best practice in functional area, business awareness, chemical industry market, commercial knowledge and strategic awareness, knowledge of supply base, supply chain value creation
Purchasing excellence, strategic sourcing
Expertise and knowledge of markets and dynamics
Preferred experience in the coatings-, inks- or related chemical industries
Familiar with SAP system, comfortable with new technology, e-sourcing tools.
Ability to assess underlying financial results of a specific course of action
